Desktop Edition

The Fascinator - Desktop Edition can be installed on your desktop or laptop to create a personal knowledge-space.

The Fascinator monitors your important files and provides you with the ability to search, annotate and tag, organise and publish your work.

All of this works in the background, leaving you to keep using your normal software tools. Plus, it runs on your desktop so it's there when you hit the road!

Windows XP, 7 (both 32 and 64 bit)

Gather together your digital objects

Point The Fascinator at your digital objects and it'll harvest them up for you. You can harvest your local and network files and all your favourite blog subscriptions.

The Fascinator has software to monitor your files so that it can keep up-to-date with your changes. This means that you can keep using your normal tools The Fascinator provides an extra toolset for working with your digital objects.

  • Full-text searching

  • Faceted browsing

  • Saved searches (we call them Views)

Tag and Annotate

With it tagging and annotation interface, The Fascinator lets your users:

  • Add folksonomy tags

  • Use taxonomy-based tags

  • Tag whole objects of sections of images and video

  • Provide feedback within your documents, images and video through annotations

  • Create a running discussion around this feedback with replies to annotations
